TRAVELING TROPHY STAYS PUT; CLIPS ROUTE EP

COLUMBIANA, OH- The Clippers wasted no time on Friday setting the tone against their EOAC rivals.  Columbiana outscored East Palestine 25-5 in the first frame and didn’t slow the pace the rest of the way on their way to an 88-46 victory to hold onto the traveling trophy until the teams meet again on the gridiron later this year.

The Clippers, who will be featured on this weekend’s episode of YSN’s Level Up were keyed in from the tipoff.  In a balanced and steady attack, it was former Big Dog of the Valley, Matt Mazei, who posted 17 on the glass and another 17 through the net on his way to a double-double.  Sean Whitehead finished with 16, while Carter Pasco had 11.

For East Palestine, Jonathan Bertovich posted 26 and was supplemented by Brandon Turcola’s 7 and Zion Figley’s 5.

The Bulldogs (3-12) will look to travel to Lisbon while Columbiana will prepare for the EOAC Championship game at Southern on Tuesday.
