LISBON, OHIO – Lisbon found ways to grind out a close one against Western Reserve Wednesday night as they snuck by 4-2 in a battle of Blue Devils.

The ballgame was all squared up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Lisbon separated themselves on a Carpenter single coming on a 2-2 count that scored the go ahead run. Lisbon added one more insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 4-2.

Carpenter led Lisbon on the hill as he was the starter. Carpenter put in seven innings of work, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out 12 and one base on balls. Four runs on six hits with two errors in the field was the winning line in the box score for Lisbon.

Lisbon will line things up again on the diamond Thursday night as they welcome in non-conference opponent Jefferson County Christian for a double header. Game one is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and game two is set up for 7:00 p.m.
