UNITED WINS 14U PONY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

HANOVERTON OH-  Jason Pratt threw a gem on Saturday for United, allowing zero runs and besting Springfield Pony 2022 by a score of 2-0. The win won the 14U Pony League Championship for United, and finished their record at 22-2.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Pratt struck out 14, while Noah Troggio sat down eight for Springfield.

One bright spot for Springfield was a double by Ricky Cooper-Gardner in the sixth inning.

Pratt took the win for United. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over seven innings, striking out 14.

Troggio took the loss for Springfield. The righty lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out eight.

United tallied one home run on the day. Mason Pitts had a homer in the fourth inning.

United collected seven hits on the day. Mason Everly and Pitts all managed multiple hits. Pitts and Everly each collected two hits to lead.

United was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Pitts had the most chances in the field with 15. Cavan Jackson led United with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

Cooper-Gardner led Springfield with one hit in three at bats. Springfield didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackson Ensley had the most chances in the field with eight.
