URSULINE’S RUN COMES UNDONE

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Mogadore Field Falcons took down the Ursuline Irish 4-1 to advance to the Division II District Championship.

The Irish got on the board first in the second inning as Caleb Gartner’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for the Irish. The Falcons then pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning when Kayden Smith drew a walk, scoring one run.

Gartner earned the win on the mound as the pitcher went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Anthony Triveri went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the way in hits as Andrew Kirila took the loss for the Irish. The southpaw surrendered three runs on two hits over three innings, striking out five.
