VIKINGS END TEN YEAR DISTRICT DROUGHT

COURTESY HEATHER JACKSON

ATWATER OH- The Vikings hosted Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday night in the OHSAA Akron 1 sectional final. They came out and won their first sectional title in a decade as they were victorious by a score of 10-0.

Leading the Vikes were Kaira English with six goals and Rose Couts with four goals. Rose Couts had two assists, Kaira English had one, and Sydney Jackson had 2. Grace Yarian led the Vikings with six saves, and Sophia Wood had 1. The team started fast on a cold rainy night and played a team game with everyone sharing the ball and contributing to the Sectional Championship win.

The Vikings are next in action Monday in the District Semifinals, which they host at 6 pm. Come on out and support the team as they try to advance to the District Finals.
