VIKINGS LEAD THE CHARGE IN BROOKFIELD

BROOKFIELD OH- LaBrae pulled out all the stops in Week 7 to edge out rival Brookfield in a 25-20 thriller on the road.

Brookfield struck first when Robbie Flynn took the opening kickoff 80 yards to the house, putting the Warriors up 7-0. In the second quarter, Kenny Yoho connected with Treyton Derry on a 25-yard touchdown pass to tie it up at 7 with 5:25 left. LaBrae grabbed the lead when Easton Armstrong punched it in from 3 yards out with just over a minute left in the half, and then followed it up by scoring the 2-point conversion himself, making it 15-7 at halftime.

Yoho kept things rolling in the third quarter, finding Owen Boone for a 35-yard touchdown to extend LaBrae’s lead to 22-7. Brookfield answered back quickly as Rico Smith ran in an 8-yard touchdown, closing the gap to 22-14. In the fourth quarter, LaBrae’s Josh Biery hit a clutch field goal with 2:31 left to make it 25-14. Brookfield responded immediately as Rico Smith broke loose for a 75-yard kickoff return to bring it to 25-20, but the 2-point try was no good, sealing the win for LaBrae.

Looking ahead to Week 8, LaBrae will host Liberty, while Brookfield hits the road again to face Southeast.
