VIKINGS PUT ON THE HURT

LEAVITTSBURG OH- LaBrae left no doubt on Wednesday, lighting up Liberty 23-3 in a blowout fueled by a monster day from Owen Boone and a first-inning avalanche of runs.

Boone did it all—blasting an inside-the-park grand slam in the third and driving in four on the day. He also worked a couple of bases-loaded walks earlier in the game, pushing his RBI total to six. He even swiped a pair of bags for good measure.

The Vikings wasted no time getting after it, dropping 10 runs in the first inning. Austin Rowe and Colton Hall each drove in runs with base knocks, Boone and others drew run-scoring walks, and Lucas Glaser added a 2-run double to blow it wide open.

They added a few more in the second, including another RBI single from Hall, and then absolutely erupted again in the third—10 more runs. Boone’s grand slam was the highlight, but the whole lineup contributed with walks, hits, and heads-up base running.

Rowe picked up the win on the hill, tossing two hitless innings with a couple of strikeouts. Three more arms came in behind him and kept the shutout alive until Liberty finally got on the board late.

LaBrae finished with 11 hits and an eye-popping 14 walks. Boone, Rowe, and Hall each had two hits, and four different players drew multiple free passes. Clean, patient, aggressive baseball from start to finish. Next up, the Vikings hit the road Thursday for a matchup at Lakeview.
