VIKINGS REIGN VICTORIOUS OVER GARFIELD

Waterloo stole the lead late and defeated Garfield 5-1 on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Waterloo batting in the bottom of sixth when multiple errors by the G-men allowed the Vikings to pull away.

Waterloo fired up the offense in the first inning, when Bobby Makin singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Noah Hughes earned the win for Waterloo. The lefthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Lopez took the loss for Garfield. He went two innings, allowing two runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking one.

Mason Hakin started the game for Waterloo.The right-hander threw a gem on the mound. Hakin went five and a third innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out four.

Luke Simons, Mason Duncan and Bobby Makin all had one hit to lead Waterloo offense.
