VIKINGS RUN AWAY FROM BROOKFIELD

LEAVITTSBURG OH- Another season gives us another matchup between LaBrae and Brookfield in the playoffs. Last season’s playoff game was an instant classic. This season however, the Vikings would outscore Brookfield 21-0 in the final two quarters to run away to a 37-14 win.

This game started out looking like it was going to be a back and forth tug of war. Brookfield opened up the scoring after a long methodical drive was capped off by a Donovan Pawlowski touchdown run.

Devin Carter and the Vikings wouldn’t take long to respond, Carter ripped off a 57 yard touchdown run to answer and tie the game a 7-7. The Vikings then went to the air as Aiden Stephens found Carter for a 30 yard touchdown. They went up 13-7.

Pawlowski took back the ball and put together another long grouping drive. He would once again score with his legs from 12 yards out. The Warriors made PAT would put them up by one point 14-13.

LaBrae’s Max Young would drill a 21 yard field goal at the end of the half to give the Vikings a 16-14 lead. Then the Vikings would blow out of the water in the second half for 21 unanswered points. All three second half touchdowns came from Stephens while the Vikings defense held Brookfield in a vice grip.
