VIKINGS UPSET ROOTSTOWN TO SECURE SPOT IN SEMIS

KIRTLAND OH- It may not have been a major upset, but LaBrae came in to Thursday night’s game against Rootstown as the lower seed. The 7th seeded Vikings took down the 6th seeded Rovers in 4 sets to move on to the district semis. (26-24 22-25 25-18 25-11)

Riley McDonough led the Vikings with a double double finishing with 12 kills, and 12 digs. Ashley Monroe also earned a double double ending with 13 assists, and 10 aces. Summer Pumphrey led the Vikings defense with 24 digs. LaBrae had 96 digs as a team.

The Vikings advance to the district semifinals where they’ll lock horns with Kirtland. That match is slated for Wednesday at 6:00 at Medina.
