WARRIORS HAVE STRONG SHOWING IN PROGRAM’S FIRST DISTRICT

HARTVILLE OH-

n its first ever visit to the OHSAA District Tournament, the girls golf team performed well placing sixth out of 12 teams at Sable Creek Golf Club in Hartville.  It was a beautiful day and the Warriors saw fine performances from all of its golfers at the 18 hole tournament on a tough course.

Winning the tournament and heading to the state tournament next weekend was Independence with a score of 361.  The Blue Devils were followed by Hawken (363) and Akron St. Vincent St. Mary (379) who will also accompany Independence to state.

The Warriors were led by Shaylee Muckleroy who scored an 87 on the day.  Muckleroy’s score was good enough to finish 10th overall in the event.  Katie Santee shot a 99 for the Warriors and Lachlan Cameron carded a 100 on the afternoon. Lulu Smith came home with a 114 and Hayden Mesler shot a 119 for West Branch.

For Lachlan Cameron, it was her last event as a Warrior, as the lone senior on the team, but a fine year and a great experience helping lead the team further than it has ever gone in tournament play.
