WARRIORS NEED OT TO HOLD OFF QUAKERS

BELOIT OH- Rivalry games always bring out the best in teams and last night’s game was no exception as West Branch took it into overtime and defeated the Salem Quakers 53-45. The Warriors outscored the Quakers 10-2 in the extra period. Salem was down 7 points with 1:09 in regulation and fought hard to knot the contest up at 43s but could not get the final shot to drop. West Branch hit on 15-20 free throws with the Quakers having 2 starters foul out.

Warrior Dru DeShields came up big with a 18 point effort. Josh Gregory added 12 points and Jaxon Hendershott had 10 points to improve West Branches record to 9-3.

Salem drops to 8-4 on the season were led by junior Drew Weir with 15 points and  senior Hunter Griffith had 11 points. Both teams return to action Friday with West Branch hosting Alliance and Salem traveling to Minerva.
