WARRIORS OUTLAST LADY QUAKERS

BELOIT, OH- The West-Branch/Salem rivalry is alive and well!

Salem’s Bailee Thorn stepped to the plate of a 1-1 game in the top of the 5th. With Freshman Jenna McClish at second, Bailee launched a 1-2 pitch over the fence field fence as Grace Heath twisted and turned but ran out of real estate. At that moment It just may have been as loud as any softball game we’ve been part of. In the bottom of the 6th with Salem clinging to a 3-2 lead, Jordan Anderson hit a similar shot (two-run) for what would be the game winner on a 0-2 pitch.

Hayden Carner had two hits and continued calling a great game behind the plate. Meg Rossero had a single and she got robbed of an RBI double when centerfielder Grace Heath made a great diving catch in the right-center gap. Hannah Kelm also had a hit for the Quakers.

Defensively Bailee Thorn played lights out at short. Taylor Thorpe made an athletic play on a squeeze bunt and Hayden Carner applied an equally as skilled tag.

Taylor Thorpe went the distance (6 innings) in the circle striking out 10, allowing 3 hits and just 2 earned runs.
