WATERLOO CONTINUES LONG WIN STREAK

November 22nd, 2021. A date that seems distant, also happens to be the last time The Waterloo Lady Vikings suffered a loss.

Going into a Thursday night matchup on January, 27th 2022 with The Sebring Lady Trojans, Waterloo was looking to keep their win streak and perfect conference record alive!

The Lady Vikings went into Thursday’s matchup having won twelve straight games prior to the conference game.

Sebring got things started with an opening bucket by multiple sport star Blake Thomas that made it 2-0 Lady Trojans to start.

However, The Lady Vikings sounded the horns and locked everything down on defense! Going on a 23-0 run that made the score lopsided in a hurry.

Waterloo had their troubles from behind the arc on Thursday, but it was the play of junior Rose Couts that helped break The Lady Vikings out of the scoring slump.

With some incredible dimes for assists, paired with 19 points of her own was more than enough to get her team the win, and earn her The Player of the Game!

It was also senior night in Atwater. As they celebrated the lone senior on The Lady Vikings squad this season in Olivia Kolstrup.

Kolstrup, comes all the way from Denmark to play for Waterloo this season, as she caught up with Ty Bartell to talk about her experience.

The cherry on top of the sundae? Waterloo was able to get Kolstrup a bucket on senior night in the closing moments of their 49-13 victory over Sebring.

Sebring (2-12) has a home matchup hosting The Lady Rams of Mineral Ridge (2-14) on Monday, January 31st.

For Waterloo (13-1) they will look to keep their conference record perfect, as they host The Jackson Milton Lady Blue Jays (9-6) on January 31st as well!
