WEST BRANCH COMPLETES TREMENDOUS COMEBACK

BELOIT OH- The West Branch girls were able to complete one of the greatest comebacks you will see this season! The Warriors came back from a 24 point second half deficit to win the game 53-52 over Howland! This was West Branch’s largest comeback this season.

Howland started off strong building a 15-7 lead after the first quarter. The Tigers outscored the Warriors in the second quarter to gain a 15 point halftime lead. For the most part, Howland was able to hold Sophia Gregory to limited scoring, hurting the West Branch offense.

Howland came out of the half scorching hot building a 41-17 lead. That’s when coach Deshields called a timeout and told his girls to keep battling. The Warriors were up to the task with a gritty effort defensively and clawed their way back for a big time win.

For Howland, Alyssa Massucci led the way with 20 points as she knocked down four three pointers. Gio Hoso contributed 9 points for the Tigers. Hose also was a big contributor defensively.

West Branch was led by Hannah Egli who had 18 points and knocked in five three pointers. Sophia Gregory had 17 points and Cami Cambell had a big game with 10 points.

With the loss, Howland drops to 9-10 on the season. West Branch improves to 8-10 with the win and will prepare for a big EBC showdown at home against Salem on Wednesday at 7 pm.
