WEST BRANCH OPENS EYES WITH BLOW OUT OF SALEM

SALEM OH-  Salem watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-0 loss to West Branch on Wednesday. West Branch scored on an error, a single by Zach Peters, and a single by Garrison Martin in the first inning.

The Quakers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing West Branch, giving up 11 runs.

West Branch got things started in the first inning when an error scored two runs.

One bright spot for Salem was a single by Darius Beck in the first inning.

Beau Alazaus led the Warriors to victory on the mound. The ace surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out two.

Gavin Wilms took the loss for Salem. The pitcher lasted two and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out three.

Beck led the Quakers with two hits in three at bats.

West Branch had eight hits in the game. Hunter Sheilds and Alazaus all managed multiple hits.
