WHITING STEALS VICTORY IN LATE INNINGS

STRUTHERS, OH- The WhitingRoll Offs stole the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Roth on Saturday. The game was tied at three with The Roll Off’s batting in the top of the sixth when Gabe Saunders threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate to allow the win.

Roth fired up the offense in the first inning. Dylan Casey singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Cameron Foy earned the victory on the hill for Whiting. He surrendered three runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out four.

John Cambert was on the mound for Roth. He surrendered two runs on one hit over five innings, striking out eight. Saunders threw two innings in relief.

Corbin Sevcik led Whiting with two hits in three at-bats.

Brendan Ray went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Roth in hits.
