WILD WILD WESS

The Poland Volleyball team had one of the more dramatic turnarounds in the area. After winning just three games in 2018, the Bulldogs went 11-12 this season with a tournament win under their belt. Junior setter Maddie Wess has been a major part of the team’s success. After having to miss a part of the season with an injury Maddie quickly became one of the better setters in the league. She contributes the raise in her game to the group of setters the team has. Knowing that there are other players who do what she does, and goes through what she does on the court helped her out a lot. Despite playing only 55/72 of her teams sets, Maddie by far led her team in setting stats with 288 assists. She says she loves the feeling of being in control of the offense. She also knows that next season she will be a senior and will have to find ways to fill the void of the eight seniors leaving this season. Maddie is ready to face any challenge that comes her way in the next season.

Anthony Hartwig went down to Poland to catch up with the junior setter. They talk about taking leadership notes from the senior class, team chemistry, and much more! Take a listen to the latest Poland Volleyball Player Profile Wild Wild Wess.
