WILDCATS WHIP BACK AT JEFFESON

Jefferson fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Struthers on Wednesday. Struthers scored on a single by Alec Grzyb in the second inning.

Jefferson struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Struthers, giving up nine runs.

The Wildcats got on the board in the first inning. Chance Zarcko drew a walk, scoring one run.

Struthers scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Struthers came thanks to a triple by Geno Calubrette and an error on a ball put in play by Ronnie Rowand.

Rowand was credited with the victory for the Cats. The bulldog allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out three. Olindo Pezzon threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Braydon Throop took the loss for the Falcons. Throop went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out two.

Seve Cantini, Mason Jacobs, Throop, and Marc Wood each collected one hit to lead Jefferson.

Struthers racked up eight hits on the day. Pezzon and Grzyb all collected multiple hits. Pezzon went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead.
