NILES, OH-\u00a0 The\u00a0Western Reserve Blue Devils\u00a0<\/a>defeated Salem 6-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.\u00a0Ryan Demsky<\/a>\u00a0struck out\u00a0Lane Rhodes<\/a>\u00a0to finish off the game.\u00a0\u00a0Western Reserve\u00a0<\/a>tallied three runs in the sixth inning.\u00a0Dom Velasquez<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Brycen Jackson<\/a>\u00a0all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.\u00a0 A single by\u00a0Ricky Enlow<\/a>\u00a0in the first inning was a positive for Salem, but the Quakers struggled the rest of the night to string hits together with runners on base.<\/p>\n

Ryan Slaven<\/a>\u00a0was the winning pitcher for the\u00a0Blue Devils. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out five.\u00a0Demsky<\/a>\u00a0threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.\u00a0\u00a0Adam Wilson<\/a>\u00a0took the loss for Salem. He went six innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits and striking out four.<\/p>\n

Western Reserve t<\/a>otaled 12 hits in the game.\u00a0Garrett Mihalick<\/a>,\u00a0Josh Slaton<\/a>,\u00a0Velasquez<\/a>, and\u00a0Dallas Smith<\/a>\u00a0all collected multiple hits for the\u00a0Blue Devils\u00a0<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0Mihalick<\/a>\u00a0went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead\u00a0Western Reserve\u00a0<\/a>in hits.<\/p>\n

Wilson<\/a>\u00a0led Salem with two hits in three at-bats.<\/p>\n
