YOUNG BLANKS MARLINGTON

ALLIANCE, OH-  Josh Young threw a shutout to lead the Quakers past Marlington 2-0 on Wednesday.  The pitching was strong on both sides. Young struck out four, while Allenbaugh sat down one.  The Quakers got things started in the first inning when Ricky Enlow singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.  The one bright spot for Marlington was a triple by Pucci in the first inning.

Young went on to get the win for the Quakers. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out four.  For Marlington, Allenbaugh took the loss. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out one.

Salem collected eight hits. Shawn ChappelBraydon Gibson, and Enlow each managed multiple hits for QuakersEnlowGibson, and Chappel all had two hits to lead the Quakers. Salem was also sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Bryce Owen had the most chances in the field with five, and was chosen by his peers to receive the Quaker Sam Hat following the win.
