MARION IL- Dawson Wallace drove in four runs on four hits to lead Youngstown past Chiba Japan 10-3 on Tuesday in the Colt World Series Semifinals. Wallace singled in the sixth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the seventh scoring one.

Youngstown got on the board in the first inning after Wallace singled, scoring one run. They then added one run in the second. Jacob Rynd singled, making the score 2-0. Another single by Chandler Maurice extended the lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning.

Carson Klase stepped on the hill first for Youngstown. He gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Hanuki Dan started on the hill for Japan. They gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Cameron Huff tossed one inning of shutout ball for Youngstown in relief. He surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking none.

Youngstown collected 12 hits in the game. Maurice and Wallace were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in four runs. Anthony Triveri collected two hits for Youngstown in five at bats. Tanner Stricko led the lineup with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.

With the win You gstown locks in their spot in the championship game on Tuesday night. They will match up against Southern Illinois. First pitch is slated for 8:00 ET.
