BULLDOGS ICE WATERLOO

EAST PALESTINE, OH – Josh Welch had a career night for East Palestine on Monday.  The dual-sport athlete provided the golden boot for the Bulldogs on his way to a 5-goal performance.  Welch scored 3 the old fashioned way and contributed 2 penalty kicks to put Waterloo away 5-2.

Brandon Turcola helped in the victory with an assist, Matt Garcia kept the Waterloo offense at bay with 2 saves.

For Waterloo, Colin Twitchwell and Clayton Jacobs each contributed a goal.  Logan McClellan and Lance Devin each contributed with a helper.  Jacob Hill had nine saves in net.

East Palestine starts their season off on the right foot at 1-0 and will begin EOAC play on Wednesday against Leetonia at home.

TULLIS TAKES ON NEW TERRITORY

LEETONIA, OH- Kylie Tullis makes history for Leetonia girls soccer signing with Malone. The four-year letter winner is the first girl from Leetonia to sign with a college program. The standout senior has nearly every record at Leetonia including 39 career goals. She excels Beyond the soccer field as well. She has earned 11 other varsity letters at Leetonia including basketball, cheerleading, cross country, and track.

Her athletic accomplishments parallel her academic. She has a 3.8 GPA and is top ten in her class. She is also a member of National honor society, Art Club, and Spanish Club. She plans on studying nursing at Malone.
On behalf of the entire team at YSN, we wish Kylie the best of luck inside and outside the lines.  We’ll be cheering for you!

FINCH KEEPS KICKING: SIGNS WITH MOUNT VERNON NAZERENE

COLUMBIANA, OH-  The All-time Saves leader in Crestview Girls Soccer History will be back in the box this fall.

Donna Finch will take her 568 career saves as Rebel Keeper to Mount Vernon Nazarene this fall.  The Cougars finished 10-6-2 overall (4-3-2 in Crossroads Conference) and have 2 Senior Goalkeepers graduating from Coach Daniel Seiffert’s program.

Congratulations to Donna on continuing her already storied career, and pursuing a great education at the next level.

 

KICKING IT IN CRESTVIEW

With soccer season well over with, and with the signing period for athletes playing at the next level reaching its final days.  We were approached about doing an interview that highlighted 3 of the most top-tier soccer players to ever wear a Rebel jersey.  It just so happens that they are the top scorer, assist leader, and save leader in Crestview history.  (You may also find them in the OHSAA record books also.)

Oh yeah- they’re the best of friends off the pitch as well.

CHANGING OF THE BLADE: TWO LADY REBELS TO BECOME RAIDERS

Two of the most successful soccer players in Crestview High School, have committed together to attend Mount Union and play at the next level.

Rebel Seniors Kassity Miller, and Jillian Beard will trade in their black and gold uniforms, for a shade of purple with the Raiders next fall.

Miller capped her senior season with 28 goals on the season, and 74 goals in her career (both school records).  She also threw some apples on the stat sheet with 31 career assists.

Beard wouldn’t be outdone during her tenure, setting records for career assists (64) and single season assists (21.)  Beard would also find the back of the net 64 times for the Lady Rebs.

Congratulations to both ladies on a fantastic high school career, and we wish continued success at the next level and beyond!

Rebels Set to Rebound on YSN

BREAKING NEWS: Crestview Local High School (Columbiana, OH) has agreed to stream multiple varsity sports this year on YSN including Football, volleyball, and soccer THIS FALL!

In meetings with Superintendent Matthew Manley, and both Athletic Directors Laura Nappi, and Paul Cusick- Crestview Local has decided to utilize Your Sports Network to stream their athletic events in 2017.  The Rebs will kickoff coverage on August 21 with Boys Soccer against Boardman.  There will be coverage of Girls Soccer, and Volleyball as well as all 10 Varsity football games.
