JUST JILL BEING JILL

CANFIELD OH- There have been a lot of players this year across the softball world who have been asked to step in to brand new leadership roles as seniors, even though the last time they were on the field with their programs, they were merely sophomores. South Range’s Jillian Strecansky falls in to that category. A lot has changed for Jillian since her sophomore year with the Raiders. As a sophomore, Strecansky wasn’t even sure if she wanted to play softball in college, but now as a senior she is signed on to play at Marietta college come next year. Now a college signee, Strecansky comes into this season knowing that she carries a lot of leadership responsibilities on a fairly young roster. She joins Bree Kohler as the only two seniors. The two focus on keeping the players loose. Just like years before, the Raiders play best when their players are loose and having fun.

Strecansky comes into this week batting .471 on the season. She is second on the team with 5 HRs. She has driven in 19 runs, and has scored 31 herself. Strecansky carries the best on base percentage on the team with .536. Jillian is also sure handed in the field. She has only committed 1 error all season at shortstop. She has a fielding percentage of .985.

Jillian took the time to sit down with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to talk about her senior season. They also discuss stepping into her leadership role, her best memories with the program, and much more. Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of the top seniors in the area in this exclusive Player Profile “Just Jill Being Jill.”
