BOARDMAN BLASTS AWAY AT CARDINALS

Boardman defeated Cardinal Mooney 15-5 on Thursday thanks in part to Cassidy Bryan, who drove in four runners. Bryan drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the sixth, and a single in the seventh.

The Spartans opened up scoring in the first inning, when Bryan singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Boardman scored five runs in the seventh inning. The batters contributing to the big inning included Sofia Hoffman, Bryan, Nina Scavelli, and Nadia Rawhneh, all driving in runs in the inning.

Katryn OHoro was the winning pitcher for Boardman. The righthander allowed six hits and five runs over four and a third innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Hoffman threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hoffman recorded the last eight outs to earn the save.

Alaina Scavina took the loss for Cardinal Mooney. The bulldog allowed four hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out one.

Boardman launched one home run on the day. Madison Lester had a long ball in the fourth inning.

The Spartans racked up 11 hits in the game. Bryan, Dana Haus, and Lester each collected multiple hits. Bryan led with three hits in five at bats.

Cardinal Mooney had seven hits in the game. Scavina and Sam Holden each managed multiple hits. Scavina launched a two run home run in the 5th.
