IRISH HAVE A FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATIC
It was a back-and-forth battle on Friday night as Ursuline and Hubbard engaged in a tug of war on the softball diamond. In a dramatic turn of events, Ursuline scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the lead and held on in the bottom half for a thrilling 7-6 victory.
Leading the charge for Ursuline’s offense was Savannah Patrone, who went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI. Katie Koulianos contributed with a 1-for-3 performance, driving in 1 RBI and scoring a run, while Arri Wendt went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Gia Schiavone added to the scoring with 1 run scored.
In the circle, Lilly Ditz battled through 5.2 innings, allowing 9 hits and 5 earned runs while tallying 3 strikeouts.
Hubbard put up a strong fight with Alexis Gregory leading the offense, going 3-for-4 with 1 RBI. Ashley Masluk scored 2 runs on her 2-for-3 performance, while Lauren Komorek added a hit and a walk, crossing the plate once. Haleigh Taylor also contributed with a hit and a walk.
