HUBBARD CARRIES HOT STREAK INTO TOURNEY TIME

HUBBARD OH- In a commanding display of power and precision, Hubbard softball surged to a resounding 14-1 victory over East in their first tournament game on Tuesday. The win extends Hubbard’s impressive run of form, with five victories in their last six games, as they head into the sectional finals in Kenston with momentum on their side.

Hubbard’s offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Phoebe Rusnak, Ashley Masluk, and Jillian Polumbo. Rusnak contributed with a 1-for-2 performance, driving in two runs and scoring twice, while Masluk went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run scored. Polumbo also had a standout game, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, a walk, and a run scored. Ashley Gregory, Haleigh Taylor, and Lauren Komorek also made significant contributions to Hubbard’s offensive onslaught.

In the circle, Taylor delivered a dominant performance, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out eight East batters over five innings. Notably, Taylor issued no walks, showcasing her control and command throughout the game.

Despite the loss, East saw a standout performance from Brooklyn Evans, who launched a home run and scored the lone run for her team. Jolyce Maldonado also contributed with a 2-for-2 effort at the plate.
