CANFIELD CONTINUES COMMAND OF AAC

AUSTINTOWN OH- The Canfield Lady Cardinals are ranked #1 on the girls side of YSNs basketball rankings. With good reason, as The Lady Cardinals have navigated their way to a 4-2 record, playing through one of the toughest schedules.

This time, it was a battle of the birds as they matched up with The Austintown Fitch Lady Falcons.

The incredibly young Falcons lineup looked really good in the first half against the upperclassmen heavy Cardinals.

As Canfield led 28-19 over Fitch at the end of the first half. With Zayda Creque being responsible for 11 of the first half points, continuing her early season success.

The Lady Cardinals, with the re-addition of Summer Sammarone to their lineup, look to add another depth to their scoring potential.

Sammarone had 16 points on the evening, as a part of a very balanced Canfield lineup that also featured key buckets from Muckleroy, A.Dill and DeLucia!

The second half was all about the defense that Canfield brought out of halftime. A defense that held Fitch to 13 second half points, while Canfield kept pace with their first half scoring.

All this combined, led Canfield to a conference game victory in their first AAC game of the year!

As #1 Canfield (5-2) will look ahead at the battle of 224 set to occur on Monday, December 20th! The Lady Cardinals will battle with #5 Poland, set for a 7:00 p.m. start time.

The Lady Falcons drop to 4-5, as their Cardinals week continues! In round two atCardinal Mooney versus The Lady Cardinals. Fitch has that game set for Saturday, December 18th at 2:30 p.m.
