FLASHES START SEASON IN STRIDE

CORTLAND OH-  In a season-opening showdown, Champion delivered an impressive performance on Friday, securing a convincing 54-26 victory over the previously 1-0 Bulldogs of Lakeview.

Bella Meyer led the charge for Champion with an outstanding 16 points, complemented by Kennedy Caldwell’s 15-point contribution. Carlie Easterday and Addie Warzala added to the scoring with 8 and 6 points, respectively, showcasing the team’s well-rounded offensive capabilities.

On the Lakeview side, Mack Stowe led the Bulldogs with 8 points, while Karlyssa Werner and Annabelle Humphrey contributed 6 and 5 points, respectively.

Both teams are set to return to the court on Monday for their next challenges. Champion will hit the road once again, facing Niles, while Lakeview, now on the road for the first time this season, travels to Jefferson. The early-season clash has set the stage for an exciting basketball campaign, with both teams eager to build on their performances in the upcoming matchups.
