EDGEWOOD’S BALANCE KEEPS MUSTANGS IN THE STABLES

ASHTABULA OH- In their season opener on the road at Grand Valley, Edgewood faced a resilient Mustangs team that mounted a second-half comeback after a dominating first half. Despite Grand Valley narrowing the gap to 6 points on two occasions in the third quarter, Edgewood ultimately pulled away for a decisive 67-48 victory.

Leading the charge for Edgewood, Katie McCollister and Leigha Guyton each contributed 14 points, showcasing their scoring prowess. Annie Johnston added 12 points, while Faith Vencill and McKenna Vencill made valuable contributions with 10 and 9 points, respectively.

For Grand Valley, Kaelyn Hart led the team with 13 points, supported by Morgan Crawford with 7 points and Reagan Boiarski with 6 points.

Edgewood’s resilience and ability to regain control in the second half secured them a well-deserved opening win. Looking ahead, Edgewood will host West Geauga on December 2nd, aiming to build on this early-season success.
