AKRON, Ohio — The Archbishop Hoban Knights boys basketball team bounced back impressively with a 65-55 victory over the formidable Gilmour Academy Lancers in a hard-fought contest.

Gilmour Academy narrowed the gap in the third quarter, posting a 20-16 period to trim their deficit, but Hoban still held a 48-41 lead heading into the final quarter. The Knights then shut down any hopes of a Lancers comeback with a game-clinching 17-14 fourth quarter, securing the 65-55 victory.

Jonas Nichols led the scoring charge for Hoban with a game-high 23 points, followed closely by freshman John Johnson with 20 points and Kenny Scott with 16 points, all contributing to a trio of double-digit scorers for the Knights. On the other side, Gilmour Academy had four players reach double-digit scoring, with Jim Lawless leading the way with 13 points.

With the win, Archbishop Hoban improves to a 14-7 record on the season. They will wrap up their regular season with a home game against the Chaney Cowboys (5-10) on Friday, February 23rd, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
