KNIGHTS RUN LAKE DRY
AKRON OH- Archbishop Hoban took down Lake 6-2 on Saturday. Lake got on the board in the first inning after a single scored one run. Then Madison Shenigo singled, which helped Hoban tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
The Knights captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the second after Savannah Regan singled, and Taylor Gerring grounded out, each scoring one run. They then added one run in the third after Nevaeh Peters grounded out. Gerring also hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the sixth for the Knights.
Gracelyn Schultz earned the win for the Knights. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.
Hoban amassed 13 hits in the game. Gerring went 2-for-4 at the plate as they led the team with two runs batted in. Shenigo went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits. Gulia Scaglione and Mya Akers each collected multiple hits for the offense.
