STRECANSKY’S EXTRA INNING HEROICS RESULT IN RAIDERS ‘W’

CANFIELD, OH-  The South Range Raiders Softball Team defeated Girard 7-6 on Friday thanks to a walk-off double. The Raiders were down 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Jillian Strecansky doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, including the game-winner.  South Range built a five-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off Girard’s charge. Girard put up six runs in the failed comeback. Lorren AlejarsAlejarsHanna Jones, and Samantha Dohy picked up RBIs to lead the rally.

South Range got on the board in the second inning when Bree Kohler singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.  Girard knotted the game up at five in the top of the seventh inning. Jones doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Bree Kohler led the Raiders to victory in the circle. She went nine innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out 15 and walking one.  Dohy took the loss for Girard. She allowed 13 hits and seven runs over eight and a third innings, striking out six.

South Range collected 13 hits on the day. Madison WeaverBree KohlerMaddie Helon, and Hope Thomas all collected multiple hits for The Raiders.  Madison Weaver led South Range with three hits in four at-bats.  Dohy went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Girard in hits.

JEFFERSON SWEEPS SEASON SERIES WITH SOUTH RANGE

JEFFERSON, OH-  Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but Jefferson was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a 3-1 victory over South Range on Thursday. Bree Kohler started the game for South Range Raiders Varsity and recorded 18 outs.  Wilber led things off on the rubber for The Falcons. She allowed two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three.

Bree Kohler started the game for South Range. She lasted six innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four and walking one.  Madison Weaver and Drew Feren each collected one hit to lead The Lady Raiders.

TIGERS EARN STRIPES VS. CRESTVIEW

COLUMBIANA, OH-  The Crestview Rebels watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-2 loss to Newton Falls on Thursday. The Rebels struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Newton Falls, giving up 16 runs.  In the first inning, Newton Falls got their offense started. drawing a walk with the bases loaded, scoring one run.  Newton Falls scored five runs in the fourth inning.

Issac Rickets started the game for Crestview. He lasted one inning, allowing three hits and five runs. Tanner DaubJames FitzgeraldJason Hill, and Dylan Huff each entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.  Rickets led Crestview with two hits in three at-bats
