GIRARD VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH PHIL WALTERS

GIRARD OH- Turning that calendar page towards the end of summer is never a time a lot of people look forward to. Luckily for us sports fans, even though the weather will start to get cooler, the volleyball gym will heat up.  Girard was a team last year that brought plenty of fire to the table. One of the hardest hitting offenses that you could find wore the black and red.  Although some of those key pieces have moved on, Girard still can pack a pretty big punch.  Hoping to keep their spot in the top tier of the area’s best Girard goes into a fresh season with high hopes.  No one is setting those expectations higher than their head coach Phil Walters who is back yet again for another exciting year.

COLUMBIANA SOFTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH DARYL KURTZ

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana has been flexing their muscles for the last decade as one of the premiere area teams in division 4. They’ve made a run to the state championship game, and have won plenty of league titles. The prestige of the program is not lost on new head coach Daryl Kurtz. He has taken a step forward for his wife Madison Kurtz who had to move to an assistant role because of the birth of a new baby to their family. The high school version of Tennessee’s Ralph and Karen Weekly run the Clippers program still as a unit. Grouped with a star studded roster, the Clippers are poised for big things in 2022.

Coach Kurtz hopped on YSN’s Running Point this week to help us preview the Clippers season. He talks with Ty Bartell and Anthony Hartwig about the senior returners, some of the big new names to the varsity level, and much more. UNITED GIRLS BASKETBALL.COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH JOSH SIGLER

HANOVERTON OH- United girls basketball took a lot of people off guard last season. The young scrappy Eagles team flew high to a successful season becoming a serious contender in the EOAC. Now, that young team has grown up a little bit. The Eagles return nearly everyone from last year’s roster, and are strapped up for a great season. They have also put together a massive non conference schedule to sharpen their teeth along the way.

United head coach Josh Sigler took the time to come on to Running Point this week to give us a little preview of United’s season. He talked to Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about all his returning leaders, returning United to its former glory, and much more. Episode 1 of Coach’s Corner with Josh Sigler is live.
