A week after falling short to cross-town rival, South Range, the Crestview Rebels sparked back to life scoring over 60 points on perennial powerhouse Warren JFK.

Amidst the action on the front lines was a beast of a boy named Dante Pelino.  The Crestview Senior is built like an American Action Hero you’d see in the movies, and for the Rebels, he’s just the real-life action hero they’re looking for to ignite the rest of their season in hopes of a post-season push.

BEAVER LOCAL WINS OT THRILLER OVER ZEPS

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The Beaver Local Beavers won an OT thriller 13-12 over the Shenandoah Zeps. The teams were tied 6-6 going into overtime, as both teams scored touchdowns, but could not convert the extra point. The Zeps took possession first, and scored, but went for a 2-point conversion and failed to convert, making it 12-6. When the Beavers got the ball, it took 3 plays to punch it into the end zone on an 11-yard touchdown run from Tanner Johnston, one of our G. Burbik Farms Player of The Game. Our other G. Burbik Farms Player of The Game Chase Flati, the sophomore kicker, took the field to attempt the PAT. With the 1st OT on the line, Flati delivered, putting the kick through the uprights and winning the game for the Beavers.

The Beavers improve to 2-1, as they prepare to face local rivals, East Liverpool.

INDIANS CLIP EAGLES IN REBOUND GAME

GIRARD, OH-  Girard coming off of a tough loss to Hubbard was ready to get back on the horse tonight and ride back onto the winning side of town.  Following a tough week of practice Girard was ready to take on JFK. Right from the start, the offense led by Mark Waid would put up 35 points alone in the first half.  Waid spread the ball around hitting Mick Malito, Aiden Warga, Terrence Davis and Morgan Clardy for touchdowns. He even ran one on his own for 6.

Waid for the second time this season totaled over 400 yards passing.  JFK was vulnerable to the Indians passing attack. For JFK, sophomore running back Cameron Hollobaugh received most of the work, but often he was met with stiff resistance from the Indians defensive line led by Jack Delgarbino.

In talking to Waid after the game, the team learned a lot from last weeks loss and realized they “Can’t take anyone for granted.”   Next week they face Champion and according to Waid they will still start from square one this week and will continue to work hard.
