POTTERS OFFENSE HUSHED AGAINST ST C

ST. CLAIRESVILLE, OH- The East Liverpool Potters found themselves outmatched against St. Clairsville, taking a tough 10-0 loss on Tuesday.

The game got off to a quick start with St. Clairsville’s Hunter Hoffman smacking a double to put his team on the board in the first inning. They didn’t let up, piling on more runs in the third. Mason Myers and Brody Saunders each added an RBI double and single, respectively, and Colton Florence drove in two more with another timely single, stretching the lead early on.

Hoffman wasn’t just doing damage with his bat; he was also dominating on the mound. The southpaw threw five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven without walking a batter, snagging the win with ease. On the flip side, East Liverpool’s Jake Smith struggled to contain St. Clairsville’s hitters, giving up all 10 runs on 15 hits over just under five innings.

Despite the rough day on the mound, East Liverpool kept it clean in the field, not committing a single error, with Evan Tice getting involved in five plays. Smith and Malachi Reed managed to pick up a hit each, but that was the extent of the offensive highlights for the Potters, who also turned a double play in their defensive efforts.

St. Clairsville’s lineup was firing on all cylinders, tallying 15 hits. Hoffman, alongside Micky Balgo, led the charge with three hits each. Florence and Marcus Bush contributed with two RBIs each, helping to cement their team’s commanding lead.

Looking ahead, the Potters will be hoping to turn things around quickly as they head to Madonna for their next game on Wednesday.
