WARRIORS RUN PAST COMPETITION IN BERKSHIRE INVITATIONAL

Burton, OH- The track and field athletes of Ashtabula Edgewood High School showcased their exceptional talents and competitive spirit at the First Berkshire Invitational Track Meet, held on April 19, 2024. Led by standout performances across various events,  Edgewood emerged as the dominant force, clinching multiple victories and securing top honors in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions.

**Chloe Hall Shines in Sprint Events**
Freshman sensation Chloe Hall proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the sprint events, claiming gold medals in both the Girls 100 meter Dash and Girls 200 meter Dash. Hall’s lightning-fast times of 13.57 seconds in the 100m and 28.51 seconds in the 200m showcased her exceptional speed and agility, solidifying her status as one of the top sprinters in the region.
**Tammy Liplin Excels in Distance Races**
Senior standout Tammy Liplin displayed her remarkable endurance and stamina in the distance races, dominating both the Girls 1600 meter Run and Girls 3200 meter Run events. Liplin’s impressive times of 5:32.28 in the 1600m and 11:42.71 in the 3200m demonstrated her unwavering determination and strategic race tactics, earning her well-deserved victories for Ash. Edgewood.
**Relay Teams Secure Gold**
The relay teams from Ash. Edgewood showcased their teamwork and cohesion, securing gold medals in both the Boys 4×100 Meter Relay and Boys 4×200 Meter Relay events. With swift baton exchanges and impeccable coordination, the relay squads delivered commanding performances, further bolstering Edgewood’s dominance on the track.
**Field Event Success**
In the field events, Edgewood athletes continued to shine, with Morgan Haywood capturing first place in the Girls Pole Vault and Chris Skwera emerging victorious in the Boys Pole Vault. Taylor Visnosky showcased her throwing prowess, claiming gold medals in both the Girls Discus Throw and Girls Shot Put events, further contributing to Edgewood’s impressive medal haul.

With outstanding performances across the board, Ash. Edgewood emerged as the overall champions in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions. The collective efforts of the team, coupled with individual excellence, propelled Ash. Edgewood to victory, as they showcased their depth and talent in every aspect of the meet.
**Final Team Scores**
In the girls’ division, Ash. Edgewood secured the top spot with a total score of 152 points, narrowly edging out Fairport Park Fairview who scored 149 points. In the boys’ division, Ashtabula Edgewood dominated with a commanding score of 160.5 points, solidifying their position as the team to beat.
As the track season progresses, Edgewood’s athletes are poised to continue their winning ways, setting their sights on even greater achievements in the pursuit of excellence.
