HERALDS SHARP IN BIG WIN OVER BOMBERS

Ashtabula, OH- In an impressive display of offensive firepower, the St. John Heralds triumphed over the Windham Bombers with a resounding 13-1 victory on Monday, highlighted by a commanding seven-run surge in the third inning.

The Heralds wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring five runs in the opening frame. Ezra Campbell’s sacrifice fly and hits from Aaron Wychock, Brady Cole, and AJ Henslee paved the way for an early lead.

Maintaining their offensive momentum, St. John extended their advantage in the second inning, with Campbell’s single driving in another run to make it 6-0.

The third inning showcased the Heralds’ offensive prowess as they exploded for seven runs. Cole, Anderson, Campbell, Williams, and Hejduk all contributed RBIs, capitalizing on hits and defensive miscues by the Bombers.

On the mound, Wychock delivered a stellar performance, pitching five solid innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight batters and issuing no walks.

The Bombers struggled to contain the Heralds’ relentless offense, with their pitcher, King, enduring a challenging outing, conceding 13 hits and 13 runs (three earned) over three innings.

St. John’s offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing 13 hits in the game. Campbell led the charge with three RBIs, while several players, including Wychock, Henslee, Williams, Hejduk, and Anderson, contributed with two hits each. The Heralds also showcased their speed on the basepaths, collecting five stolen bases.

Defensively, St. John’s was flawless, committing no errors throughout the game. Anthony Severino stood out defensively, making several key plays in the field.

Despite the loss, Jacob Cody and Jack Eye provided some offensive spark for the Bombers, with Cody driving in a run and Eye collecting two hits.

With this convincing win under their belts, the St. John Heralds look ahead to their next challenge as they hit the road to face Lordstown on Tuesday.
