BEREA GETS THE BEST OF BOARDMAN

NILES OH- Boardman lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat to Berea-Midpark on Saturday. Berea-Midpark trailed 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when they singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Boardman fired up the offense in the first inning, when Anthony Butto singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Berea-Midpark evened things up at one in the top of the second inning. Gavin Hyde’s wild pitch allowed one run to score.

Caleb Satterfield was on the pitcher’s mound for the Spartans. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, walking one. Hyde and Jason Triveri entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and two and two-thirds innings respectively.

Seth Cervello went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Boardman in hits.
