CLIPPERS TAKE ANOTHER EOAC DOUBLE HEADER

COLUMBIANA OH- Columbiana continued their dominance in league play on Thursday night, sweeping East Palestine in a doubleheader with convincing wins of 20-2 in game one and 15-1 in game two.

In the first game, Columbiana’s offense exploded with Caitlynn Pleska leading the charge, going 4-5 with 7 RBI and 3 runs scored. Ava Davanzo and Cam Perkins also contributed, each driving in multiple runs. Maryn Hepler and Anna Yonker added to the offensive onslaught with key hits and RBIs.

In the circle, Pleska and Peyton Stoy combined efforts to limit East Palestine’s offense to just 2 runs. Pleska pitched 3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs, while Stoy pitched 2 scoreless innings.

For East Palestine, Taylor Foster and Jasmine Ludt drove in runs, but their efforts weren’t enough to overcome Columbiana’s strong performance.

In the second game, Columbiana’s offense remained hot, led by Ella Dota and Maryn Hepler, who each had three hits and multiple RBIs. Alaina Johnson also contributed with 2 RBI.

The Clippers continued to pitch well on the night, Hepler pitched 3 innings of shutout ball, allowing just 2 hits to secure the win for Columbiana.

With these victories, Columbiana solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the league, while East Palestine looks to bounce back in their next outing.
