A COMMUNITY WIN FOR LOUISVILLE

LOUISVILLE, OH- Cooper Rice was on fire at the plate in front of the entire community, bagging four hits in as many at-bats, to lead Louisville Leopards past Boardman with a 9-4 victory on Thursday. Rice was everywhere, hitting a triple in the sixth, and adding singles in the first, second, and fourth innings.

The scoring started with Jakeb Beard’s double in the first inning for Louisville. But Boardman briefly took the lead, 2-1, in the third, thanks to Adam Konnerth’s triple and Kaden Mayhew’s RBI groundout.

Louisville took control in the fourth, surging ahead 5-2. Andrew Corona smashed a two-run double, Cole Miller added an RBI double, and Beard contributed with an RBI single.

Tate Aljancic was credited with the win for Louisville, allowing four runs over four and a third innings, despite giving up just two hits. Mason Wanochi, on the mound for Boardman, was tagged with the loss after yielding five runs on nine hits in just over three innings. Blake Johnson stepped in to snag the save for Louisville.

Louisville racked up a total of 14 hits in the game. Beard was key in the middle of the lineup, driving in three runs on a 2-for-3 outing. Zach Root and Miller also had multiple hits.

Defensively, Louisville kept it clean with no errors, and Owen Burick was involved in six plays, leading his team.

For Boardman, Grayson Eicher and Konnerth each had a hit, while Mayhew brought in two runs.

Louisville is set to face Boardman again on Monday.
