MOHAWK BAGS BOBCATS

BESSEMER, PA- The Mohawk Warriors made quick work of Beaver, cruising to a 10-1 victory on Thursday.

Beaver initially grabbed the lead in the second inning when Derek Hughes knocked a single to bring in a run. However, a costly error by Beaver soon allowed the Warriors to even things up.

The Warriors then seized control in the third inning. Vinny Pezzuolo smashed a double, and Jackson Chapman followed up with a single, each driving in a run to put their team ahead.

The momentum stayed with the Warriors, who piled on four more runs in the fourth. Jay Wrona ripped a double that scored two, and Pezzuolo blasted a homer to left field, bringing in another two runs.

On the mound, Briar Crawford secured the win, pitching three innings with four strikeouts and only one run allowed. Logan Hill, on the opposing side, bore the brunt of the loss, giving up three runs over three innings.

The Warriors racked up a total of 12 hits. Pezzuolo had a standout game with three RBIs and went 2-for-4 at the plate. A.J. Verdi also shined, going three for three.

Defensively, the Warriors were flawless, notching zero errors. Verdi, in particular, had a busy day with seven chances in the field.

For Beaver, Hughes managed to go 2-for-3, leading his team with one RBI. Both Corbin Sevcik and Hughes gathered two hits each. Despite their efforts, Beaver managed to turn two double plays.

Looking ahead, the Warriors are set to face Central Valley on Friday, while Beaver gears up for a matchup against Blackhawk on Monday.
