QUAKERS STORM BACK ON CARROLLTON

SALEM OH- Despite squandering two opportunities with 1st and goal to go inside the 3, and trailing 28-14 with under 6 minutes to go, the Quakers didn’t quit and came out with an exciting 29-28 victory over previously undefeated Carrollton on Friday night.

Trailing 7-6 at halftime, and 14-6 in the 4th, Salem marched down and scored and with the 2 point conversion, tied the game at 14 apiece. The Warriors then came out and scored on two consecutive possessions to take 28-14 lead but the no quit Quakers scored on their next possession to cut the lead to 28-21. After executing a perfect onside kick, the Quakers marched down and scored and went for a gutsy 2 point conversion to take the lead.
Carrollton then marched down the field and had a 29 yard field goal to win it but came up short and the Quakers held on. Jackson Johnson led the way with 4 total TDs for the Quakers.
Salem improves to 1-2 and will face Marlington next week at Sebo Stadium.
