HAVE MERCY; CANFIELD PUTS UP A BAKERS DOZEN AT THE BEACH

MYRTLE BEACH, SC-  The Canfield Cardinals scored seven runs in the fourth on its way to a 13-1 victory over Fairport on Tuesday. Canfield’s big bats were led by Nate Shaw, Michael Patellis, Ethan Prout, Josh Juliano, and Ben Slanker, all driving in runs in the frame.

The big inning was thanks to walks by Patellis and Prout, singles by Shaw and Juliano, and an error on a ball put in play by Slanker.

Ryan Petro took the win for the Cardinals. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero. Jameson Beck threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Braden Consaul took the loss for Fairport. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Canfield tallied 11 hits on the day. Landon Beidelschies and Shaw all collected multiple hits for Canfield. Shaw and Beidelschies each collected three hits to lead the Cardinals.
