RESERVE ONE STEP CLOSER

BERLIN CENTER OH- Western Reserve took a commanding step towards the MVAC championship with a dominating 13-3 victory over Waterloo on Thursday night.

The Western Reserve offense was firing on all cylinders, led by Sophia Reigle who went 2-for-3 with an impressive 5 RBIs, a walk, and 2 runs scored. Katie Byers contributed with a 1-for-2 performance, driving in 2 RBIs and drawing 2 walks, while Caylee Selley went 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Maylin Hartzel also chipped in, going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs, and Allison Jones had a stellar game, going 3-for-4 and crossing the plate 3 times.

On the mound, Katie Byers was stellar for Western Reserve, pitching a complete game of 5 innings, allowing only 4 hits and no earned runs while racking up an impressive 9 strikeouts.

Despite the loss, Waterloo showed resilience at the plate. Taryn Brown led the offense going 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs, followed by Morgan Sweitzer who went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Savannah Francis also contributed with an RBI.
