WYMER’S BLAST BOOSTS BOARDMAN AHEAD

CHARDON OH- In a tightly contested matchup, Boardman secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, powered by Maddie Wymer’s crucial home run in the 5th inning.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading blows throughout the innings. Boardman’s offense came alive in the 5th inning when Wymer stepped up to the plate and blasted a home run, driving in 2 runs and putting Boardman ahead 4-3. Wymer’s offensive heroics proved to be the difference-maker in a close game. She went 2-3 on the day to go along with her home run. She totaled 3 RBI when her day was done.

Alex Ward and Tori Strines also contributed to Boardman’s offense, with Ward driving in a run and Strines scoring 2 runs while drawing 2 walks. Mikayla Rivera added another hit for Boardman.

In the circle, Gabi Sferra delivered a strong performance, pitching 6 innings of solid softball. She allowed just 4 hits and recorded 8 strikeouts, keeping Notre Dame Cathedral Latin’s offense at bay.
