BERTOVICH NAMED 2022 YSN BOYS BASKETBALL MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

EAST PALESTINE, OH- Jonathan Bertovich has been named 2022 Your Sports Network Boys Basketball Most Valuable Player according to the media company.  Bertovich put the cap on an outstanding career this season while averaging 24 points per game, 5 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals, and a pair of blocks per contest.

The Heartland product competed in 24 games this season and “Jonny Buckets” also became the leading scorer in the history of Columbiana County in 2022, when he surpassed Nate Scott of Wellsville with 1,625 points in his illustrious career.

Bertovich also helped lead Heartland Christian to their first victory in program history this year inside the OHSAA Tournament.  Bertovich, who has been seen as a scorer his entire career rounded out his game when he arrived in Heartland his junior year.  JB elevated his game, and those around him with more dishes than Fiestaware his senior season.

At the conclusion of his senior campaign, Bertovich made it known his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Geneva College in the Fall of 2022.  We congratulate Jonathan Bertovich for a stellar season, and career, as well as his selection as the 2022 YSN Boys Basketball Most Valuable Player.
