FIGUEROA AND CANFIELD BLAST THEIR WAY TO SECOND STRAIGHT AAC CROWN

CANFIELD OH- Canfield continued their reign atop the AAC with a commanding 18-0 victory over Warren Harding, securing a share of the conference championship with Fitch for the second consecutive season.

The Canfield offense came out swinging, led by a remarkable performance from Leah Figueroa. Figueroa went 3 for 4 at the plate, blasting an incredible 3 home runs and driving in 8 RBIs while crossing the plate 3 times. Marina Koenig added to the onslaught with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, while Alexa Ignazio contributed a perfect 4-for-4 performance with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Sammi Economous, Macy Kalina, and Caylee Ortiz also made significant contributions with hits and RBIs.

In the circle, Paris Lingdren was nearly untouchable, pitching a no-hitter over 5 innings. Lingdren’s dominant performance included 6 strikeouts and no hits or runs allowed, solidifying Canfield’s shutout victory.
