FITCH SLAMS THE DOOR ON BOARDMAN RALLY

BOARDMAN OH- In a nail-biting showdown on Monday, Fitch faced Boardman in a tense matchup that saw the Falcons narrowly escape with a 7-6 win. Despite a late rally from Boardman in the bottom of the seventh inning, Fitch managed to shut the door and secure the victory.

The Falcons’ offense came out swinging, led by a stellar performance from Carson Fuller, who went 3-4 at the plate with four RBIs and a run scored. Carter Owens contributed with a 1-3 performance, driving in a run and scoring once, while Mason Petridis went 2-4 with an RBI.

On the mound, John Darnley delivered a solid performance for Fitch, pitching six innings and allowing four hits and four runs while recording one strikeout.

Boardman fought hard to close the gap in the late innings, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh to put pressure on Fitch. Ben Herrmann led the Spartans’ offense, going 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Grayson Eicher and Charlie Young each contributed with an RBI.

Collin Resetar started on the mound for Boardman, pitching four innings and allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two batters.

Despite the late push from Boardman, Fitch’s pitching held firm, securing the narrow victory on the road.

The win boosts Fitch’s confidence as they continue their season, while Boardman looks to regroup and bounce back in their next game.
