LADY LEPS HANG ON; LOUISVILLE TAKES DOWN MASSILLON

LOUISVILLE, OH- Louisville built a seven-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Washington’s charge for an 8-6 victory on Tuesday. Washington scored five runs in the failed comeback on a double by Davis and a home run by Newman.

Kenzi Denzer led to victory by driving in four runs. Denzer went 3-for-4 at the plate. Denzer drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a home run in the fifth.

Louisville put up six runs in the fifth inning. Louisville‘s offense in the inning came from singles by Jenna Collins and Brooke Brendle, by Kendra Thomas, and a home run by Denzer.

Thomas took the win for LouisvilleThomas allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking zero. Katie Heath threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Harper took the loss for Washington. Harper allowed ten hits and eight runs over four and third innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Louisville tallied two home runs on the day. Denzer had a dinger in the fourth and fifth innings.

Louisville collected 12 hits on the day. DenzerBrooke Haren, and Matti Adams each racked up multiple hits for the Lady Leopards. Denzer led Louisville with three hits in four at-bats.

Harper went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Washington in hits. Washington was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Els made the most plays with eight.
